This is an exquisite matched pair of early antique Victorian Wedding Bracelets, from circa 1870-1880’s, rendered in a rolled rose gold and rolled yellow gold. The bracelets are of the same manufacture and design, obviously made as a set or pair, with mirrored adornments and slightly different floral engravings on the scalloped square. The top of the bracelet has an excellent yellow gold round floral design with scalloped floral engraved square a and Victorian adorned ends attached to the wonderful rolled rose gold rube bangle cuff or bracelet. Each still shows the gold linked safety chain and mid-hinge and clasp. During the Victorian times, a bracelet was given and worn when betrothed and the matching bangle worn after marriage, a sentimental and endearing tradition of Love in the 19th Century. To have a complete two-piece set of these Victorian Rose and Yellow Gold Marriage Bracelets is very uncommon and rare with most being separated when inherited or over time. The bracelets do not appear to be signed or marked and are said to be made with the heavy rolled gold style. Gold content not tested. Each measure 2 ½” by 2”.
