Included in this lot is a Vietnam War Era Street Vendor Photograph taken by a US servicemember, circa 1965-1975. Along with many photographs of combat scenes taken during the Vietnam War, many were also taken of civilian life in South Vietnam. This photograph, taken by a US servicemember, is of a young female street vendor. While her facial expression tells the story of war weariness, her "shop's" inventory of soft drinks and cigarettes were very popular commodities with the servicemembers. Bottles of Cokes and Orange Fanta are seen on the shelf above the vendor, while Cambodian, Thai, and British cigarettes are facing forward in the display case; American brands Winston and Salem can be seen facing away. The overall condition of the "shop" is evidence that the "shop" was not in an active combat area at he time of the photograph. By the Tet Offensive in 1968, most of South Vietnam was an active combat area. This framed photograph is in nice condition, professionally mounted. Measures 11.25"W x 14.25"L x .875"D
