This lot features a vintage, 15 pound Chase and Sanborn Vacuum Packed Coffee Tin. The tin is silver with a brown and white Chase and Sanborn label; it has an orange and white display saying, “vacuumed packed.” Chase & Sanborn Coffee is an American coffee brand created by the coffee roasting and tea and coffee importing company of the same name, established in 1862 in Boston, Massachusetts. It claims to be the first coffee company to pack and ship roasted coffee in sealed tins. When Standard Brands was formed in 1929, it acquired Chase & Sanborn, where it remained until 1981 when the company merged into Nabisco. Nabisco sold Chase & Sanborn to Kraft-General Foods in 1987. The tin is in fair shape for its age. The tin would make a perfect decorating piece for any coffee collector.
