This is an outstanding circa 1970-1980's Vintage Estate Tanzanite and Diamond & 14K yellow gold ring. The ring features a wonderfully and professionally crafted 14k yellow gold construction. The ring is decorated with a pear shape tanzanite cabochon with measurements of 11.42 x 7.31 x 3.99mm and shows an approximate weight of 1.92cts and shows good luster with a transparent look and a coloration of light to deep blue. Tanzanite is an exceedingly rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The condition of this ring is good with no obvious signs of damage and in good overall condition. The measurements of this ring are 1 1/8" x 7/8" x 7/8. The collective weight of this ring 7.4g
