Featured in this lot are Rare Antique Hyer Sea Turtle Western Cowboy Boots, circa 1960s. The boots are comprised of rare 100% sea turtle leather with leather boot loops and shows a two-layer construction to the top of the boot toe. The foot has a point oxford like design with the sides having a wonderful diamond pattern. This pair of boots show a serial number on the inside of the boots that reads as follows: 20 7484. The shoe size is US 9. Founded in 1875 in Olathe, Kansas, by Charles H. Hyer, Hyer Boots is widely credited with creating the first true cowboy boot in 1876. Designed with a pointed toe, high heel, and scalloped top for a local cowboy, the brand became a staple for ranchers, celebrities, and rodeo stars, eventually becoming a premier, historic American boot manufacturer. The condition of this pair of boots is good with a slight wear to the soles and to the side walling of the boots showing some open seams, worn top loops, etc. The measurements of these boots are 13.5"H x 4"W x 11.5"L, combined weight is 4lb, 4oz.
