Featured in this lot is this Vintage Mexican hand painted Amate Bark Folk Art circa 1960's. The artwork features a wonderfully and professionally crafted Amate Bark and tempera paint construction that shows floral scenes with birds and rabbits and one peacock in the last painting. Amate from Nahuatl languages: is a type of bark paper that has been manufactured in Mexico since the precontact times. It was used primarily to create codices. Part of the Huexotzinco Codex, written on amate. There are four total paintings in this collection that are all unique as they are beautiful. The condition of this collection of Mexican Folk Art Amate Bark artwork is well preserved with some natural flaking and a couple holes to the Amate Bark paper but otherwise is in well preserved condition. The measurements of these pieces of artwork ranges from 23 1/2" x 16 1/2" to 25 1/2" x 17 1/2".
