The lot features an original vintage piece of Navajo silversmith by Ella Peter showing a bear paw shadow box and turquoise sterling squash blossom necklace. Ella Peter is a master Navajo silversmith who has been at work for over 45 years. Born in the Tsa-ya-toh area, Ella's father taught her to weave and work silver / metal at a very young age. This work is signed / stamped "Ella Peter" and "STERLING". The necklace exhbits a double bar sterling silver squash naja pendant with five bear paw shadowboxes, along with one dangling from the center all three are set with Number 8 Mine Turquoise having a spiderweb matrix. The necklace strand is strung with a sterling silver chain link strand having a double strand of sterling silver concho / concha Navajo pearls along with ten blossoms. The blossoms are each matching bear paw shadow box set with the same Number 8 Mine Turquoise with spiderweb / spider web matrix. The vintage piece is well kept showing a nice original patina from age, one concho bead has a separation, but other than this the piece is truly a wonderful piece. The necklace measures overall 25.5"L clasp to clasp with a naja pendant that is 3" by 3 1/8". Total weight of 146 grams.
