The lot features a vintage Northern Plains feathered headdress with beaded brow band. The piece has an Effanem wool crusher cap lining with hide tied turkey feathers that have red wool wrapped ends with plume feathers and bottom ends and dyed tops with tufts of plume and red dyed horse hair fringes. The front shows a beadwork brow band on red wool with glass trade seed beads with colors of greasy yellow, cobalt, chalk white and red. There is a row of brass covered metal hawk trade bells on the front and two large brass concho / conchas at the temples. There is also some nice ermine hide, ribbon and trade clothe fringes. The inside of the hat has an inside circumference of 24-inches.
