Whittlesey, published by Roberts Rinehart Publishers and copy-righted by the author in 1995. In these accounts, written with sensitivity as cautionary tales about what to do and what not to do in one of our wildest national parks, Whittlesey recounts deaths ranging from tragedy to folly—from being caught in a freak avalanche to the goring of a photographer who just got a little too close to a bison. Armchair travelers and park visitors alike will be fascinated by this important book detailing the dangers awaiting in our first national park. The book shows good condition with no signs of obvious damage to the exterior or interior pages. The book measures 8 7/8" L x 6" W x 7/8" D. The third book in this collection is this first edition, signed copy of "Yellowstone Summers: Touring With The Wylie Camping Company" by Jane Galloway Demaray, published by the Washington State University Press and copy-righted by the Board of Regents of Washington State University in 2015. In 1872 Congress established Yellowstone National Park, and its vast wonders mesmerized early sightseers, including school superintendent William Wallace Wylie. From 1896 to 1905 his Wylie Camping Company fed, sheltered, and guided thousands of Victorian vacationers through relaxed week-long tours. Wylie promised travelers comfort and delicious meals. His clients enjoyed heated sleeping tents, informative outings, and fresh-air bonfires. His guides utilized the park as an outdoor classroom and set an example for concessions throughout Yellowstone. The book shows good condition with no signs of obvious damage to the exterior cover or interior pages. The book measures 9" L x 6" W x 5/8" D. The fourth and final book in this collection is Robert Scott McKinnon's first edition "To Yellowstone: A Journey Home" illustrated by David Maloney, published by Holt, Rinehart and Winston of Canada. With the help of a highway patrolman, a twenty-year-old bull elk, his lifetime mate, and a camel calf strayed from a circus show attempt to reach Yellowstone Park before hunting season opens.
