Featured in this lot is a vintage Resistol Las Vegas style cowboy hat from Cross Western in Ogden, Utah. Hand creased and made of XXX Beaver. Cross Western was a western outfitter store located in Ogden, Utah that permanently closed its doors in 2005. The Resistol company was founded by E.R. Byer and Harry Rolnick, who established Byer-Rolnick in Dallas, Texas in 1927. At the time, the company produced men's felt hats. The company used the name "Resistol Hats" to indicate that the hats could "resist all" weather conditions. Eventually, the growing firm needed to expand. In 1938, it moved to a larger facility in Garland, Texas, where Resistol hats continue to be manufactured today. The hat is carefully handcrafted with XXX beaver and is in the color black. The hat features a black hat band and Resistol's self-conforming interior leather band. The interior is lined with red nylon and features a "Last Chance Stampede Fair" sticker from Helena, Montana in the middle of the liner. Overall the hat is in good condition with no signs of obvious damage. It measures 13 1/2" L x 11" W x 6 1/4" H. The inside circumference measures approximately 21 1/4".
