Included in this lot is a Vintage Southwest Turquoise Chip Inlay Collection including a turquoise chip inlay stamped bear buckle, Nickel Silver inlay money clip, needlepoint hair barrette, stamped concho belt. Navajo Diné silversmith Tommy Singer is credited with inventing the chip inlay technique in the 1960s. His work is considered a cornerstone of contemporary Native American jewelry, bridging traditional Navajo motifs with modern innovation. It allowed for intricate, mosaic-like patterns that were faster to produce than traditional stone-to-stone inlay. The buckle displays turquoise chip inlay, the money clip features Jet, turquoise and coral inlay in a stamped design. The concho belt features stamped Puebloan images of arrows, rattlesnake jaws, suns, and the Old Pawn style hair barrette displays needlepoint turquoise cabochons.
