After 1920 the Keystone View Company was the major global publisher of stereoviews, between 1915 and 1921 they had bought the negatives of nearly all of their competitors. Stereographs were collected by many middle-class families in the late 19th century. People acquired stereographs of tourist sites they had visited, as well as exotic locales that they would only experience through the wonder of the stereoscope. Viewing stereographs was a common activity, much like watching television or going to the movies today. Stereoviews were also used as an education tool in classrooms. This collection includes fifteen Keystone View cards, twelve Underwood & Underwood cards, six H. C. White cards. The cards are in nice preserved condition, each measures 3.5"W x 7"L, combined weight is 1lb, 2oz.
