Presented in this lot are Vintage Stetson Cowboy Hats circa 1940s to 1960s. Considered the standard and classic Western hat, Stetson Hats were designed and created by John B. Stetson as a lightweight all-weather hat for the demands of the American West. The term "Stetson" eventually became all-but-interchangeable with what later became known as the cowboy hat due to later style-designs based on how the rounded-crown would deform from regular use. The "Boss of the Plains" style would become the cornerstone of Stetson's hat business and is still in production today. Featured are the "Sheriff", an iconic, durable western-style hat often associated with law enforcement, featuring a wide brim for protection and a classic, structured design.
