For your consideration is a Vintage Original Yellowstone National Park Boundary Sign, circa Mid-Century, metal painted sign with green on white lettering, NOS. The vertically mounted sign reads "US BOUNDARY NPS" (National Park Service). National Park Service (NPS) boundary signs are markers used to designate the official borders of park land. The first official attempts to create consistent communication through signs was between 1926-1939. Revised standards were issued in 1940. Most importantly, the iconic Arrowhead logo was authorized in 1951 and began appearing on signs and publications in 1952. The sign has the original two holes for mounting, slight paint loss along edges, reverse painted yellow. Scratches noted, sign is in overall good condition with wear consistent with age and handling. Measures 3"W x 12"L, weight is U6.
