For your consideration is this collection of four (4) vintage Western books from various authors. The first book in this collection is titled, "Alec Lloyd, Cowpuncher" by Eleanor Gates, published by Grosset & Dunlap in New York 1907 and copy-righted by The McClure Company in 1907. This is a collection of stories loosely strung together about an Oklahoma cowboy with romance on his mind. Known to one and all as “Cupid” Lloyd, he likes to match up folks he thinks would make good couples. A matchmaking cowboy is an odd premise for a book of fiction, but given Lloyd’s lack of prospects for marriage himself, there is poignance in his situation and potential for seriocomic developments. The books front cover is loosely connected from the inside. The interior pages are in good condition with no tears or signs of foxing. The book is overall in good condition. It measures 7 1/2" L x 5 1/4" W x 1 1/4" D. The second book is titled, "The Long Shadow" by B. M. Bower and illustrated by Clarence Rowe. The book was published by Grosset & Dunlap in New York and copy-righted by G. W. Dillingham Company in 1909. The story takes place in Montana as civilization is pressing in, with its fences, plows, farmers....what is a lifelong cowboy supposed to do with himself when he realizes that his world is threatened by that menacing, long shadow of civilization? The book is in good condition with very slight wear from its vintage age. The interior pages are in good condition as well with no tears or signs of foxing present. The book measures 7 1/2" L x 5 1/2" W x 1 1/4" D. The third book in this collection is titled, "A Man In The Open" by Roger Pocock, published by The Bobbs-Merrill Company in Indianapolis and copy-righted by The Bobb-Merrill Company in 1912. The book features drawn in illustrations from an unknown persons. Overall the book is in good condition with slight wear to the outside cover and top of spine. The interior pages are in good condition with no tears or signs of foxing present. The book measures 7 3/4" L x 5 1/2" W x 1 1/2" D. The fourth and final book in this collection is titled, "The Range Dwellers" by B. M. Bower and illustrations by Charles M. Russell. The book was published by G. W. Dillingham Company in New York and copy-righted by the same company in 1907. The story is about a millionaire's son, who's gotten somewhat out of hand, is sent out to his dad's ranch in Montana to reform, but he spends most of his time trying to woo a young woman from a neighboring ranch. The books cover and spine are loose but still connected, while the entirety of the book is in good condition. The interior pages are in good condition as well with no tears or signs of foxing present. The book measures 7 1/4" L x 5" W x 1 1/4" D.
