Featured in this lot is this vintage Zuni multistone inlaid Thunderbird circa 1970's. The earrings feature a wonderfully and professionally crafted sterling silver and multistone construction that includes stones such as: mother of pearl, onyx, turquoise, and red branch coral. The earrings are in the design of the Thunderbird and shows sun faces on the stud portion of the dangle earrings. The Thunderbird holds significant meaning for the Zuni people. For the Zuni, the Thunderbird is connected to the life-giving forces of nature, particularly rain, which is essential for their agriculture in the arid regions of the American Southwest. The earrings are marked on the back of the earrings as follows: Sterling. The condition of this pair of Zuni earrings is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this pair of earrings is 2 1/8" x 1" x 1/2". The collective weight of this pair of earrings is 10.2g.
