The earrings are in the design of the Thunderbird and shows sun faces on the stud portion of the dangle earrings. The Thunderbird holds significant meaning for the Zuni people. For the Zuni, the Thunderbird is connected to the life-giving forces of nature, particularly rain, which is essential for their agriculture in the arid regions of the American Southwest.
