Featured in this lot is an original sculpture of a Native American family traveling by Vivian Lowrey. Vivian Lowrey (1933-1996) was a Montana artist located in Flathead Reservation. She painted most of her work in the 1970's and was known for her depictions of Native Americans, primarily using oil on canvas. The statue displays a Native American family traveling, with the wife and child on horseback and the father standing on the back of the sled. The sculpture shows good detail, rough art style, and a hand painted exterior. The statue is signed across the base, reading "VLowrey 91". The piece came from the Old Bozeman Gifts and Gallery. The piece shows good, overall condition and a glass display case. The case measures 22 1/2" wide by 12 3/4" deep and 13 1/2" tall with the sculpture measures 14 1/2" long by 7 1/4" wide by 9 1/4" tall.
