This is a rare open-face, Waltham Watch Company Model 1908 Premier Vanguard Railroad pocket watch with Keystone 10K yellow gold rolled-gold filled case. The watch shows an open face configuration with nickel silver finish movement with bridge plate and 23-jewel movement set into a Waltham Premier Keystone J. Boss 10K Yellow Gold Filled case with case number of 9029035. The watch has a single sunk dial with bold Arabic numbers face with diamond indices, Blued Steel Spade Whip hands and face marked, “Waltham Premier Vanguard 23 Jewels”. The movement is nickel silver bridge plate movement marked “23 Jewels Adjusted / 6 Positions / 30564414 / Vanguard Waltham U.S.A.” Movement serial number of 30564414 with a production date of July 1940. The pocket watch is a 16 size railroad grade, level-set, 6-positions adjustment, 10 K gold filled open faced case Waltham and Keystone J. Boss. It was one of the highest-caliber timepieces offered by the company, designed for the extreme precision required by railroad workers. The condition of this Waltham pocket watch is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this watch are 2"W x 2.25"L, weight is 93.5 grams.
