The lot features a worked and etched brass kissing Otter fetish on a necklace of Watermelon trade beads. Pendant necklaces of trade beads were traded by the Hudson Bay Fur Trading Company to the Northern Plains Native American Indians from the 1700’s and 1800's. The necklace features excellent pinched Watermelon trade beads and Watermelon chevron beads. The otters show a pair of hollow otters. The two bodies are attached at tail, nose (kissing), and lower torso. The otters also feature engraving of fur texture on body and tail. The piece has a circular ring at the top. The piece shows overall good condition. The bead necklace measures 32". The pendant measures 2 1/2" x 1 7/8".
