Featured in this lot is this Chippewa artist Wayne Gunville sculpture called "Vision Quest". The sculpture is wonderfully and professionally crafted from Colorado Alabaster stone and shows a figure of a Native Man with the depiction of an eagle flying nearly straight up into the sky. The sculpture is mounted on a thick, heavy hardwood base and is marked on the back as follow: W.R. (carved gun pictomark) ville which is the signature for W.R. Gunville. There are pictures of the original receipts in the images attached to this lot (not the physical receipts only images of them). This sculpture was bought by Dan and Boneta Paynich of Great Falls, Montana in 1992. The condition of this alabaster sculpture shows a well preserved quality with some scratches to the wooden base and the very tip of the beak of the eagle overhead of the Indian shows a small chip. The measurements of this sculpture is 25 1/4" x 10 3/4" x 6 1/4". The collective weight of this sculpture is 40lb 10oz.
