For your consideration is an original U.S. Civil War B. Kittredge & Company marked Frank Wesson two-trigger carbine chambered in .40 caliber. During the Civil War, Frank Wesson supplied approximately 3,000 of these carbines to B. Kittredge & Company of Cincinnati. Kittredge then supplied 760 to Indiana, 1,366 to Kentucky, and others to Kansas and Missouri. Most were then issued to units from those states and had the marking “F. Wesson Patent Oct. 25 1859 & Nov. 11, 1862 B. Kitteredge & Co. Cincinnati O.” This fine carbine has a blade front sight, smooth stock, and the early style frame. The carbine shows its original saddle ring with the action release stuck and the trigger spring is in poor condition. The exterior of the piece shows fair condition with wear and patina accurate to age and use. The rifle weighs 6lbs. Serial Number: 3170. This firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
