Featured in this lot is a Western Art and Artists five (5) book collection, "Contemporary Western Artists" by Peggy & Harold Samuels 1985, "Adventures in Western Art" by Dean Krakel 1977 First Edition, "The Art Of The Golden West" by William C. Ketchum, Jr First Edition 1996, "Portrait Of The Old West" by Harold McCracken First Edition 1952, and, "Classic Western American Paintings" Gerald Peters Gallery publisher First Edition 1979. "Contemporary Western Artists" by Harold and Peggy Samuels, is a well-regarded illustrated biographical dictionary of leading American Western artists, published in the 1980s; "Adventures in Western Art" by Dean Fenton Krakel focuses on Western American art, often featuring biographies and autobiographies of artists, and is known for being well-illustrated; "The Art Of The Golden West" by William C. Ketchum, Jr. a historical art book featuring 106 full-color reproductions of paintings, drawings, and sculptures from the 19th century. It explores the lives of Native Americans, pioneers, and cowboys highlighted through the works of George Catlin and Karl Bodmer, landscape artists like Thomas Moran and Albert Bierstadt, and later documentarians Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell; "Portrait Of The Old West" by Harold McCracken is a comprehensive art history book and serves as a visual and narrative survey of life on the Great Plains through the eyes of the artists who documented it over three and a half centuries. It explores the evolution of Western art from early views of the land to the era of cowboys, pioneers, and Native American tribes; "Classic Western American Paintings" is a catalogue of "the finest works available in the Classic Western American field, that is paintings whose subjects - people, places, events and landscapes - are taken directly from the settling of the American Western Frontier". These books are in fair to good condition, intact pages loose in some books. Ilustrated paper dust jackets display scuffing and slight tears.
