For your consideration are three Western/Native American themed books from various artists circa 1973, 1974 and 2007. The first book in this collection is titled, "American West Chronicle" by ten writers, two consultants and a foreword by U.S. Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell circa 2007. The book describes the discovery, settlement, and development of western territory, from the Appalachians to the California coast, giving a complete story, from 1800 to 1950. This intriguing book tells the stories of explorers, pioneers, fortune-seekers, and Native Americans who helped shape the West. the dust cover shows the title in red lettering and shows a photo of a cowboy sitting on the ground while he wears his hat and holds his rope. The next book is titled, "The Lure of the Great West" by Frank Getlein and the editors of Country Beautiful circa 1973. This book details the lure the Great West had on painters, sketchers, sculptors and other artist alike and features over 350 colored and black & white illustrations. The third and final book in this collection is a first edition titled, "The World of the American Indian" by "National Geographic Society circa 1974. The book depicts the Indians as they were--their beliefs, practices, and appearance--and gives an idea of who they are today and why. It is illustrated profusely with more than 440 illustrations in color and black & white. The book features a dust jacket showing a man in traditional paint and clothing, while the book shows a black and yellow Southwest style designed cloth cover. The books show good condition overall with wear present from their age and use over the years but no signs of major damage is noted. Interior pages show good condition as well with no foxing or staining present. The books measure from 12 5/16" L x 9 1/16" W x 1 1/8" D to 10 5/16" L x 9 1/4" W x 1 1/16" D. The three books have a collective weight of 12 pounds.
