For your consideration is this tenth edition (1925) of, "When We Were Very Young" by A.A. Milne, best known as the creator of Winnie-the-Pooh and with decorations by Ernest H. Shepard, published by London, Methuen & Company in 1925. This book, released in 1924, was Milne's first collaboration with illustrator Ernest H. Shepard, whose black-and-white line drawings brought Pooh and Christopher Robin to life. "When We Were Very Young" is a collection of poems written from a child's perspective, expressing the enchantment and wonder of early infancy. The poems introduce readers to Christopher Robin and make an early reference to the bear who would later become Winnie-the-Pooh. This copy is bound in complete red leather with gold gilt patterns on both the front cover and the spine. It shows good condition overall with wear to the edges and spine from its age and use over the years. Slight tear near the bottom of the spine. Interior pages show good condition with slight foxing noted. It measures 7 1/2" L x 5" W x 1/2" D and weighs 8 ounces.
