The piece shows a wonderful panel solid oak wood construction in the late 19th and early 20th century Mission/Arts and Crafts period style. Simmons Hardware, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri with locations in six states, was one of the largest icebox producers throughout the 19th and 20th century from 1874 to 1939. This White Clad Icebox is an excellent representation of such an early and desirable piece. Wood interior is suitable for storage. The piece shows wonderful brass like hardware and the embossed brass lettering badge along the front, "Trademark White Clad Registered Simmons Hardware Co., St. Louis, MO., U.S.A."
