For your consideration is a Stephen Willard (1894-1966) photograph titled “Shadow Lake”, circa 1950's. The scene shows an Eastern Sierra Nevada peak in the distance looming over "Shadow Lake”. Stephen Willard (1894-1965) was one of the Southwest's premier landscape photographers. He settled in Palm Springs in 1922 and photographed desert landscapes until he moved to the Owen Valley in 1947 and opened his studio in Mammoth Lakes. From his base in the mountains, he photographed the magnificent Easter Sierras. The Palm Springs Desert Museum is the repository of Willard's negatives and prints. The condition of this framed photograph is good, with some wear or repairs to the frame, but it is in good overall display condition. The measurements of this framed photo are 17" x 15 1/2" and the visible art measures 10 1/4"8 1/4".
