Available in this lot for bidding is an exquisitely framed print by William Robinson Leigh. The piece is titled "Buffalo Drive", and depicts a group of Native American Indians driving buffalo over a cliff. William Leigh was a renowned Western artist, born in Berkeley County, West Virginia, he entered the Maryland Institute at age 14, then attended the Royal Academy in Munich for twelve years. Leigh eventually settled in New York City and set up studio. Over his career, Leigh's works were showcased in Life, The Saturday Evening Post, and Colliers. Leigh even completed a four page illustration for an astrobiological article; "The Things that Live on Mars", for a March 1908 issue of Cosmopolitan. Leigh passed in 1955, though his studio is on display in the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Overall, the piece is in very-good condition, boasting a gorgeous dark brown frame, accented by beautiful suede-type matting, and showing no apparent wear or damage to the print. The frame measures 46 1/4" wide, 35 5/8" tall, and 2 5/8" deep.
