The rifle dates to manufacture year 1901, and features a 26" octagonal barrel, walnut fixtures, crescent butt stock and an adjustable rear sight, paired with a fixed front sight. The Winchester 1894 became one of the most famous and popular hunting rifles of all time - Designed by the renowned John Browning in 1894, and was the first rifle to chamber smokeless powder .30 WCF - otherwise known as the .30-30. The Model 1894 has been referred to as the "ultimate lever-action design" by firearms historians such as R. L. Wilson and Hal Herring. The Model 1894 is the rifle credited with the name "Winchester" being used to refer to all rifles of this type. Overall, the rifle shows good condition, with good blueing on the barrel, and a nice even patina to the receiver, and magazine tube. The walnut fixtures show very-good condition, with only some light handling marks. The action is smooth, and the bore is bright with strong rifling. Serial Number: 117679.
