This lot provides you with a Winchester Model 94 Lever-Action rifle, chambered in .32-40. The rifle dates to manufacture year 1902, and features a 21 3/4" round barrel, walnut fixtures, and a adjustable rear sight, paired with a brass blade front sight. The Winchester 94 became one of the most famous and popular hunting rifles of all time - Designed by the renowned John Browning in 1894, and was the first rifle to chamber smokeless powder .30 WCF - otherwise known as the .30-30. The Model 1894 has been referred to as the "ultimate lever-action design" by firearms historians such as R. L. Wilson and Hal Herring. The Model 1894 is the rifle credited with the name "Winchester" being used to refer to all rifles of this type and was the first commercial sporting rifle to sell over 7,000,000 units. Overall, the rifle shows good condition, with good blueing on the barrel, and a nice even patina to the receiver. The walnut fixtures show very-good condition, with only some light handling marks. The action is smooth, and the bore is bright with strong rifling. The rifle qualifies as a Curio & Relic Long Gun, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check. Serial Number: 237747.
