Offered for your consideration in this lot is a Winchester Model 94 Lever-Action saddle ring carbine, chambered in .30 Winchester Center Fire (WCF). The rifle dates to manufacture year 1921, and features a 20" round barrel, walnut fixtures, and an adjustable Marbles rear sight, paired with a Marbles brass front sight. The barrel is marked "Manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms. Co. - New Haven Conn. U.S.A. Patented August 21 1984 - Nickel Steel Barrel - Especially for Smokeless Powder - 30 W.C.F." The Winchester 94 became one of the most famous and popular hunting rifles of all time - Designed by the renowned John Browning in 1894, and was the first rifle to chamber smokeless powder .30 WCF - otherwise known as the .30-30. The Model 1894 has been referred to as the "ultimate lever-action design" by firearms historians such as R. L. Wilson and Hal Herring. The Model 1894 is the rifle credited with the name "Winchester" being used to refer to all rifles of this type. Overall, the rifle shows good condition, with fair blueing remaining on the barrel, and a nice even patina to the receiver, and magazine tube. The fore girp walnut fixtures show very-good condition, and the buttstock has been replaced. The top of the tang is marked "Model 94 -Winchester Trade Mark."
