Included in this lot is a Winchester Model 54 .30-06 Govt. bolt action rifle. The Winchester Model 54 is a bolt-action rifle manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. The 54 was the first successful production run civilian centerfire bolt action for Winchester. Using a Mauser 98 type action, the 54 was a less-expensive derivation of the limited-production handmade Model 51 "Imperial" of 1919. The Model 54 was produced until 1936. This rifle utilizes a 24” round barrel chambered in .30-06 Govt. The top of the barrel is roll stamped “Made in New Haven Conn. U.S. of America – Winchester Proof Steel – Winchester Trade Mark – Model 54 - .30 GOVT’.06”. The firearm is fit with a Weaver K4 rifle scope and hooded front sight. The body of the rifle is made from a stunning flame maple with ebony tip. The stock has a raised cheek riser and checkering on the pistol grip. The action is in good condition with tight lock up.
