Featured in this lot is this beautiful Winchester "Ammunition for Democracy" World War II Commemorative Desk Set presented by Winchester Ammunition circa 1990-2000s. This desk set was made as part of an effort to raise funds for the National World War II Museum located in New Orleans which opened on the anniversary of D-Day in 2000. The clock is one of only 5000 that were made by the Western Cartridge Company which owns Winchester Rifle Cartridges. The profits from these clocks was donated to the National World War II Museum by Western. The set is constructed of brass and nicely polished dark wood that has been engraved reading, "Western / Western / Ammunition For Democracy / 1941 In Memoriam 1945". On the clear plastic under the clock it reads, "National WWII Memorial". To the right of the clock is an adjustable pen stand. The clock is set in the center of the piece and reads, "World Time by Chass" on the bottom of the clock face. It is powered by a single AA battery. The desk set shows good condition overall with no wear or damage present. It comes in its original box and plastic sleeves along with a Winchester Certificate of Authenticity, a One Year Limited Warranty slip of paper and an instructional slip of paper. The desk set measures 3 9/16" L x 9 7/8" W x 7 5/8" H and weighs 2 pounds and 8 ounces. The original box measures 5 1/8" L x 11 1/8" W x 9 3/16" H.
