Included in this lot is a First Edition of “With Custer in the Black Hills” or “A Young Scout Among the Indians” by Captain Ralph Bonehill, 1902, The Mershon Company New Jersey, Flag of Freedom Series. The book is about the trials and difficulties of the trappers, hunters, and pioneers who helped settle the Northwest. This thrilling adventure story tells the tale of a group of soldiers and pioneers who set out to explore the Black Hills of South Dakota in search of gold and adventure. Along the way, they encounter hostile Native American tribes, dangerous wildlife, and treacherous terrain, but are determined to reach their goal. The brown cloth bound gold gilt illustrated hardcover is in fair to good condition overall, scuffing and fading exhibited, splits noted at hinges. Intact pages have painted top, bottom and fore edges, slight age tanning. Measures 5"W x 7.25"L x 1.25"D, weight 1lb.
