Featured in this lot is this Woodland Era Hopewell wolf effigy head Pipestone pipe from 100 BCE - 200 BCE. The Pipestone pipe bowl features a downward flare to the base with a wolf effigy head and shows shoulders just behind the neck tucked underneath the bowl frame. The bowl also features a Pipestone construction with a cylindrical bowl. The wolf’s tail is shown embossed into the underside of the pipe. The condition of this Hopewell Traditional pipe bowl is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this Hopewell pipe bowl are 1 3/8" x 4 5/8" x 1 3/8".
