For your consideration is a Wooly Mammoth Ivory and Six colored Chevron beaded rosary. This rosary features six, six colored chevron beads. Chevron beads are special glass beads; the first specimens of this type were created by glass bead makers in Venice and Murano, Italy, toward the end of the 14th century. Most of the Venetian chevron beads made for export to West Africa and to the Americas have layers in red, blue, and white. Wooly Mammoths had long, curved tusks and four molars, which were replaced six times during the lifetime of an individual. Their ivory is a popular trade item. Between the round Mammoth ivory beads are copper beads. The rosary measures 17.5" long.
