For your consideration is this World War I Prussian bugle made by Konrad Eschenbach in Markneukirchen circa 1915. Konrad Eschenbach was a metal wind instrument builder who learned his skill in the family-owned firm. In 1887, he established his own company in Bahnhofstr. 317, Markneukirchen, on the German/Czech border, and manufactured a variety of instruments such as drums, violins, accordions, and trumpets. His son took over the business in 1917. The bugle shows the Prussian Coat of Arms on the bell showing an eagle with its wings spread, holding a sword and a type of cane while wearing a crown. The eagle is marked on its chest with "FR". Below the coat of arms it shows the makers mark reading, "Konrad Eschenbach / Markneukirchen 1915". The bugle shows two metal loops used to connect a strap and features a Conn made mouth piece. The bugle shows good condition overall with wear present from its age and use over the years. No signs of major damage is noted. Dents and dings are present. The bugle measures 10 5/8" L x 4 3/8" W x 7 1/4" H and weighs 15 ounces.
