Offered for sale is a WWII Japanese Type 99 Arisaka 7.7x58mm bolt action rifle. The Arisaka action might be the most underrated firearm in the Western Hemisphere. These robust rifles culminated in the Type 99, a bolt action second to none. The Arisaka Type 99 would be in the short list for best bolt action rifle of WWII given its strong locking action, excellent 7.7mm cartridge, chrome lined barrel, aperture sighting, light but strong stock, and superior steel. This rifle shows a few missing pieces and the stock sanded to be refinished. The barrel and action display a warm and worn patina across the exterior. The top of the receiver is stamped with chrysanthemum mark and "Kyukyushiki" in Japanese translating to Type 99. The rife shows working mechanical condition with crisp trigger. The rifle shows good condition overall with wear and need of refinishing. Serial Number: 53408. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic firearm, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
