Offered in this lot we have a World War II German Weyerberg, Kirschbaum and Company cadet sword. The sword was manufactured by Kirschbaum & Co. during the second world war, Kirschbaum was the same manufacturer who originally introduced the M1840 cavalry saber during the American Civil War. The piece shows a steel blade, brass guard, and wire wrapped leather handle. The blade displays steel condition with a double fuller and a single cutting edge. The blade marked near the guard reading "WK&C" with a Kings head and Knights Helmet markings. The guard displays brass construction and D style guard. The grip shows wooden construction with original leather and copper wire wrap. The sword comes with a paper tag with info on the piece. The piece shows good condition overall with some wear across the piece due to age. The sword measures 35" long with the blade measuring 30 1/2" long.
