Featured in this lot is this First Edition of "Yellowstone Geysers" by Clyde Max Bauer, Ph.D., published by Haynes, Inc., Yellowstone Park, Wyoming, 1937. It is illustrated by Jack Ellis Haynes and was approved by the National Park Service. Clyde Max Bauer, Ph.D., was the Park Naturalist at the time of publication. This book has several photos and illustrations throughout, as well as details and stories of the Yellowstone National Park geysers. Jack Ellis Haynes, the famous photographer of Yellowstone and other National Parks. The many Haynes photographs are what make this edition special. This is one of the early works on Yellowstone geysers. Also includes a 1939 map of Yellowstone Park on pages 126-127. The book features a green coloured clothbound hardcover with gold gilt lettering and an illustration of an erupting geyser on the front cover. The condition of this book is good overall. Intact pages exhibit age tanning and very slight foxing consistent with the book’s age. It is in good condition and has a tight binding; there is little wear to the cover.
