Presented in this lot is this Yellowstone National Park and Forest Map, 1897. This coloured topographical map is titled, "Yellowstone National Park And Part of Abutting Forest Reserve From Maps by the U.S. Geological Survey". Provenance: this map came from the Francis P. Farquahar Papers in the Bancroft Library of UC Berkley (map is stamped). The map highlights includes, roads completed, roads projected, roads under construction, roads available but not now used by Park Transportation Companies, trails and old wagon trails that might be used for saddle trails." A thin strip of the then titled Teton Forest Reservation (changed to Teton National Forest in 1908) is visible at the bottom of the map.
This map is in amazingly good condition, very slight tears noted at creases, age tanning and foxing exhibited, no other marring noted. Measurements are 5.25"W x 9"L folded, 20.25"W x 20.25"L
