Featured in this lot is this Yurok, Klamoth Indian polychrome woven basket circa 1920 to 1930's. The basket features a wonderfully and professionally crafted pine needle woven construction that shows geometric stepped patterns woven into the side walling of the basket with a full sun pattern woven into the base of the basket. The coloration is naturally dyed red, black and grey and presents itself in banded patterns. The Yurok are an indigenous people along the Klamath River and Pacific coast whose homelands are located are located in California that stretches from Trinidad in the south to Crescent City in the north. The condition of this woven basket is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this basket is 3 1/2" x 6 3/4" x 6 3/4". The collective weight of this basket is U4oz.
