Included in this lot is a Zuni Charlene Dishta lariat Mojave turquoise and sterling silver necklace. Mojave Turquoise is primarily found in the Kingman mine located in the heart of Kingman, Arizona. This mine is famous for its stabilized turquoise, which is turquoise that has been enhanced with epoxy that deepens the natural color of the stone. This process also involves a hydraulic press, which assembles turquoise nuggets by introducing a bronze metal matrix. Mojave turquoise is among these stabilized turquoise stones and is said to be the only stone available that features a real metal matrix and real Arizona turquoise. This beautiful necklace features three polished oval cut cabochons of Mojave turquoise and four polished triangular cut cabochons of Mojave turquoise. This stunning turquoise showcases a fantastic array of colors ranging from deep purples, light blues, and bright green. The stabilization of this turquoise incorporates the copper vein matrix. The lariat cabochons are connect by beautifully worked sterling links. The back of the bottom most oval cut lariat is hand stamped with the maker Charlene Dishta's hallmark "CD" and "Sterling". The largest oval cut measures 3/4" x 1 1/8" and the two smaller ones measure 5/8" x 1". The triangular cuts measure 1/2" x 1". The necklace from clasp to clasp measures 23 1/4". Over all this beautiful necklace is in good condition with no signs of damage.
