For your consideration in this lot is a rare circa 1960's sterling silver turquoise and coral "Snake" ring by world famous Native American Zuni silver artist Effie Calavaza. This heavy men size ring shows two snakes shadow boxing a cabochon of turquoise and one of coral. Effie Calavaza is a Zuni Silversmith whose work has captured the hearts of many collectors. She was born in 1928 and started making jewelry in her early years. Effie also went all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States of America to obtain full copyright of her art work to stop those from importing fake pieces of her work. Now in her 90's, Effie mostly supervises her daughters silverwork she has passed her designs down to her daughters. Her work is collected throughout the world. The ring is marked with her hallmark Effie C. Zuni on the inside. The ring is U.S. size 10 1/4, and weighs 27.4 grams
