Featured in this lot is this Vintage Zuni Jennie Epaloos Sterling Silver Concho Leather Belt, circa late 20th century. This stunning belt features twenty (20) individually designed stamped mini conchos. Each concho depicts a different Zuni and Southwest Pueblo motif. The Sterling silver buckle is also stamped in a different motif. The Zuni Tribe, located 34 miles south of Gallup, New Mexico, is a vibrant community boasting a rich cultural heritage that spans centuries. With over 10,000 tribal members, the Zuni people have become renowned for their exceptional craftsmanship and artistry, particularly in the realm of jewelry making. Each piece reflects the tribe's deep connection to nature, incorporating symbols and motifs inspired by their sacred beliefs and ancestral traditions. The conchos feature intricate stamped designs, "JE" and "Sterling" are stamped on the underside of the buckle. The grey leather belt is supple. A rich patina observed throughout. Measures 41"L, weight is 66.7 grams.
