Offered in this lot is a very fine Roosevelt and Bernice Tekala (1933-1986) (Zuni) signed silver and turquoise watch cuff and watch. The overall work by artists Bernice & Roosevelt Tekala is lacy and very feminine. They have gone beyond Zuni traditional work and created an exceptional piece of silver work, beautiful, comfortable and wonderfully functional. Listed in many books for their artistry, Bernice and Roosevelt have developed a style that is their own, yet incorporates generations of cultural influence and tremendous skill. The cuff currently has a rectangle Citizen Eco-Drive watch in it that measures 1" X 3/4". The inside measurement of the cuff is 4 3/4" with a 1" gap. Both sides of the band show an eight turquoise petal flower and nine other turquoise pieces. Inside the band is the Roosevelt and Bernice Tekala hallmark. The band is in very good condition for its age of about 50 years; the watch was exposed to sunlight and rain.
