Featured in this lot is this Zuni Tracy Bowekaty Sterling Silver Gem Corn Turquoise Necklace and Earrings. The pieces feature a vibrant palette of hand-cut stones, including turquoise, coral, mother of pearl, spiny oyster, malachite, and lapis utilizing inlay stones. The pieces, each mounting resembling an "ear of corn", feature sawtooth bezel mounted oval cut stones each with multi-stone inlay, braided silver rope and silver beads. Tracy Bowekaty is a contemporary Zuni silversmith and lapidary artist from the Zuni Pueblo in New Mexico. She is part of a prominent lineage of Zuni jewelers, a family tradition where craftsmanship is passed down through generations. She is best known for her colorful "gem corn" or "ear of corn" designs, which symbolize fertility and a good growing season. Her jewelry is currently featured in several major Native American art galleries and museum shops, including the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. Necklace and earrings have hallmarks on reverse sides, "TEB Zuni" or "TEB Z". This beautiful necklace and earrings set is in very nice condition, sterling silver is bright. No marring observed.
