Featured in this lot is a 12.29 caret tanzanite and VS2 diamond platinum earring set with GGA paperwork. The earrings feature a wonderfully and professionally crafted platinum construction and are hallmarked with 'Oscar Freidman' and 'PT950'. The earrings feature two pear brilliant faceted cut natural tanzanite stones that show measurements of 15.74 x 9.95mm and 15.52 x 10.04mm and are considered type I with bluish violet color. The stones are in excellent symmetry with a total weight of 12.29 carats. The center stone and dangle design are profusely decorated with a total of 146 round brilliant cut diamonds that measure 2.2 x 1.0mm and shows VS2 - SI1 clarity with a average color of F - G and a total diamond weight of 2.23 carats. Tanzanite Is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company who named the stone Tanzanite. Tanzantite is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The piece comes complete with GGA (GemAssure Gemological Appraisals, GGA Appraisal Number#: GGA063342 and trace number: ER006906) report and appraisal confirming the above info and giving a total value of $54,630.00.*
