Offered in this lot for your consideration is a 1793 stamped George Washington Indian Peace Medal on a trade bead necklace. The oval has a decoration to the face depicting George Washington in uniform with a farm in the background, greeting a Native American man stepping out from a forest with a peace pipe. Below is engraved "GEORGE WASHINGTON PRESIDENT 1793". On the reverse side is a spread-winged Federal eagle. the medal is unmarked silver hanging from a loop. The medal is strung on a necklace of oval five layer chevron beads and white round beads that measures 30". The medal oval measures 63.5mm by 93mm.
