Featured in this lot is this 1795 George Washington Presidential Peace Medal. The peace medal features a wonderfully and professionally crafted silver construction that shows shows a depiction of George Washington and a Native American passing a peace pipe with the U.S. eagle seal on the back holding arrows and an olive branch. The front of the medal is marked as follows: George Washington -President - 1795. The peace medal comes in a custom leather wrapped and felt lined case that fits the medal perfectly. The condition of this peace medal is well preserved with some slight patina to the silver and the original leather wrapped case shows some wear to the leather consistent with some age. The measurement of this case is 5 1/2" x 4 1/8" and the peace medal measures 3 1/2" x 2 1/2". The collective weight of this peace medal and case is 4oz and the collective weight of this peace medal is 54.8g.
